We stayed in Rome 5 days pre cruise. Our hotel was the Villa Spalletti Trivelli (highly recommend). While we have been to Rome before we really enjoyed the leisurely strolls and sight seeing. A glorious city where you can never see everything
We have been to Barcelona many times so this time we went back to the Sagrada Familia to see what progress has been made to the unfinished Church. We shared a cab with another cc couple and it was very reasonable back and forth. It is absolutely unbelievable how much has been accomplished. Worth a visit back. Ate at our favourite spot in La Boqueria and it was wonderful as always. With an overnight here there was lots of time. The ship arranged for a free shuttle to take us to the bottom of Las Ramblas which was very nice and very handy.
The ship actually docked in Cadiz and stayed overnight. On day one, we went to Seville. I had arranged for a private transfer there and back. This worked out really well as we left before the tours and beat the rush and the lineups. A group of my fellow roll call members went by way of a very comfortable bus to Seville. From there, everyone was on their own. Most went to the Alcazar & the Church. Both of these were excellent. We enjoyed a stroll and a marvelous lunch and then caught our bus back in time to get to our private Flamenco show in Cadiz at La Cava. We had been there the year before and this show was better than last years. The next day we strolled and enjoyed this marvelous town.
