nothing much to do here-you need to take a cab to do any shopping. Beach day is the best option. Do not go to Luxor unless you can stay overnight there! It is a long, boring, bumpy ride there (4 hours) so you get almost no time in Luxor.
Aqaba is a beautiful modern city on its own but the trip to Petra is a must. It is a delightful 2 hour ride with beautiful scenery and good roads. Petra itself is amazing and definitely worth the trip. We added the optional visit to Wadi Rum which was also very good.
a charming, clean, modern city. We took a cab ride to the Suq (market) area-be sure to negotiate with the driver beforehand, prices can vary greatly. The people we met here, including our cab driver, were the friendliest, nicest ones we met on the trip. Some great shopping here for jewelry and islamic items.
this is of course an amazing place-unbelievable architecture, clean, modern, vibrant, exciting. We took a tour of modern Dubai which gave us several photo stops at some of the iconic buildings, including out to the Palm Island and their version of Atlantis. We then had high tea at the Burj Al Arab hotel which was overpriced but very nice. A visit to an authentic Suq finished the day beautifully.
