So we ended up in Greenwich village surrounded by NYU students all tapping away on their mobile phones or laptops, not talking to each other. We made our way towards the shops at Soho, but we both felt as though we had landed on another planet and we wanted to get off, so went back to our haven QM2 and breathed a sigh of relief as we hit the embarkation area and were able to say "In Transit" and bypass all the queues of newcomers and got back to our lovely safe home.

If we ever have the opportunity to visit New York again, we would stay there for a few days so we could acclimatise to the hub and bub and bustle.
