Our excursion here was a ship organised tour advertised as a boat trip to see the El Arco Rocks and a drive through Cabo. Access was through tender boats which worked well. The boat trip was great. We got up really close to the rocks and sailed right around them. We also got a close look at some of the residential areas above the cliffs. There was a very good on board commentary and the crew were very attentive passing out drinks as requested and pointing things out when people were uncertain. The drive was a bit of a farce. There was little to see and if there had been there was no commentary. Effectively it was a trip to a defunct looking resort with a very very distant view across the bay to the ship and El Arco. The free beer didn't stop me thinking that I'd had my time wasted!WE could have ducked out when we got back to the dock area and I'd advise others to do the same if you can afford your own beer :)
This cruise was organised by a fellow Cruise Critic Member within our Roll Call and the content was superb. In the course of the day we visited a family of White Faced Monkeys, a fruit farm, scarlet macaws, the Tarcoles estuaries with some massive crocodiles, iguana and numerous bird species and a rain forest retreat with excellent shops. Add to that lunch and a good supply of cool, refreshing drinks in the van and it was a very enjoyable day. The actual organisation of the tour company was a bit hit and miss but that was nothing to with our guy, who did a brilliant job for us.
Brilliant half day tour organised by the same Roll Call member. Crammed an almighty number of venues into the morning but never really felt hurried. WE visited the Convento Santa Cruz de la Popa with its fantastic views across the city, the fort of San Phillippe Barajas viewed from outside but not ventured into, the old city and an emerald factory. Within the city we had the opportunity to visit some excellent shops for souvenirs and took a sedate stroll through the streets and central squares where we were introduced to various churches and other important buildings. Our guide Dora was outstanding and this tour was extremely good value.
