Don't miss visiting Meteora, a one-of-a-kind spectacle in the world, where monasteries dating to 14th century are amazingly built at the top of huge Canyon-style rocks.

You can also visit mount Pelion, where natural beauty meets rich ancient Greek mythology, as the mountain of Centaurs.

According to Greek mythology also, the Argonauts started their journey to find the Golden Fleece from nearby Iolkos. In the port of Volos there is a nice reproduction of an ancient Greek 'pentekontoros', a warship with fifty oarsmen, reminding of the mythological Argo ship.

If you are not the shore-excursion type, Volos has a nice promenade by the sea for strolling or having a coffee or lunch in one of the many cafes or restaurants there. Cunard offered a free shuttle from the ship.
