According to Greek mythology also, the Argonauts started their journey to find the Golden Fleece from nearby Iolkos. In the port of Volos there is a nice reproduction of an ancient Greek 'pentekontoros', a warship with fifty oarsmen, reminding of the mythological Argo ship.

If you are not the shore-excursion type, Volos has a nice promenade by the sea for strolling or having a coffee or lunch in one of the many cafes or restaurants there. Cunard offered a free shuttle from the ship.
