Took the shuttle to downtown where we bought an excursion to la bufadora. It was nice to see and there were many vendors who thought I was there cousin "primo". We ate tacos at La Michoacana, where the buses park. Best tacos of the entire trip, and we ate at every port. If we go back it will be for the tacos. We did get some nice dresses for our niece. Not much else to do but party downtown.
First port day we took a water taxi to the los arcos which was nice and cheap. We did a little shopping and ate some tacos at Lolitas's. They would rank third on our port day taco experience.
Second Port day we had reservations with Oceanus to do the mini-subs. Best excursion ever. snorkeling was also included, but paled after the subs. Would do it again, great experience. I'm XXXlarge and I fit.
We hit the first free bus to tecolote beach with son in tow. Beach was nice. Had to rent chairs from local vendor, no problem. Bought some cokes and enjoyed the water. Son enjoyed the water and built sand castles. We left at noon as most people were arriving and the wind started picking up and battering everyone trying to get into the water. Go early. We then went into town for some shopping and tacos. This time we ate some great fish tacos. Had Marlin, shark, and lobster tacos. It was open air across from the malecon. I wish I could remember the name. It was very shady and and about three blocks south of the bus drop off. I would go back here. This place was rated number two for our taco experience. Rated a four because our son enjoyed it so much, it is not a huge tourist mecca yet, and we had fun, not necessarily for the services available. although they did look to have some nice places to stay. Very quiet town for relaxation not party.
Beautiful! Love the jungle setting. We just walked the malecon with our son. We hit the Mercado and crossed the foot bridges across the river cuale to old town. What visit to Puerto Vallarta would be complete without a coffee from Starbucks. Yes I did, and I'm not ashamed. Carnival Coffee was the pits. Old town was nice. The malecon was still under construction but it was completed enough to enjoy it. We ate at Melissa's and had some good fish tacos, but the fajitas were just okay. The place was nice, but I would try someplace else next time. We liked Puerto enough for a longer visit next time.
