We chose a Pisa and Florence Exclusive tour with lunch and it was again fabulous. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable but not particularly friendly. Florence is a bustling city with lots to see. We also enjoyed a fabulous lunch.
This was our second Exclusive tour with lunch. It was a full day visiting the coliseum and the Vatican. Lunch was superb and our guide truly loved Rome and was exceptionally knowledgable. Both venues were very busy. I can't imagine how it would be during high season. In St. Peters, we were litterally pushed through by the crouds.
This was to be a half day tour, but at the last minute, it became a full day. We took a boat to Capri then a bus to Ana Capri. We were given two options, a chair lift ride to the top of the island or a tour of a museum. If one wanted to do both, there was an up charge for the additional ticket. We chose the chair lift ride which was breath taking! Next, we went to lunch at a local restaurant in Capri. It was not as good as the others we enjoyed in Rome and Florence. We then enjoyed a walking tour through gardens. While nice, it was not nearly as beautiful as other venues. After some time on our own, we took a cable car back to the marina, and then back to the ship just in time for dinner. The day was cool and partly cloudy, and I felt tired of being buffeted in crowds. We were definitely ready for a day off from tours. In fact, when an overweight man pushed his way into our already full cable car, leaving me next to no space to stand, I could only pray for a speedy decent, and couldn't wait to get back aboard the ship!
