We didn't spend much time in the village, but caught the train to Monte Carlo, another gorgeous place. It was very easy to do our own thing and would recommend this, rather than book an excursion. We saw most of the sights, but the queues in the Cathedral were too long. We were able to go round the Princes Palace, which was an unexpected bonus.

Now that we have been to Monte Carlo, if ever we return to this area, we would have a lazy day in Villefranche with lunch overlooking the harbour.

The coach trip is quite long, nearly two hours due to the traffic, but once we were there, WOW!!!!

It's everything you expect, and more. We had a couple of hours on our own, but didn't manage to find the Trevi Fountain!!!! Lots of little streets and a very poor map provided on the tour.

The escorted part of the tour took us around the "must do " sights, which only made us want to spend more time on Rome in the future. Fabulous place!!!

We were a party of twelve in a minibus.. The other ten people were Americans, six of whom were very nice, however four of the company were extremely annoying! Been there, done that, got the tee- shirt etc, etc..

I would have liked to have spent more time in Positano rather than Sorrento, although the lunch in Sorrento was very good. We were delayed on the way to Pompeii due to an accident so our time there was limited, but enjoyable all the same. Could have done without the visit to the cameo factory.
