Hired a mini van and six of us drove around the island checking out the attractions. It was good but I was not impressed with Tahiti. Loved the troupe that came onboard to do the show.
We caught a taxi down to the beach and snorkelled and swam and canoed for the day. Very enjoyable. The bay where the ship anchored was spectacular. Moorea was our favourite of the three ports. Cheap to get taxis. $5 each to get to the beach. That was a surprise.
Was pretty disappointed in Bora Bora. One of the ports that is built up and every has high expectations. We got a tour when we got off the boat. $70 to go out and swim with the rays, swim with the sharks, visit the coral garden, morning tea and then around the island. We got dropped off at Bloody Marys - good but expensive. It cost us $41 for two hamburgers, a bloody mary and a beer. Then we walked down to the only sand beach and had an hour or so swimming. Walked around to the public beach to get the bus back to the port. The water was beautiful and we enjoyed our time but wouldn't go back. Hard to please, hey!!!
