We rented a car. We were picked up by Alaskan Rent-a-car and had a great time driving to the end of every road. We saved a lot of money renting a car instead of taking excursions.
We rented a car. We hit the Glacier and saw so much more by going to wonderful city and state parks. We got a great view of the harbor by driving to the top of the ski resort on Douglas Island. We saw more than on any excursion and stopped for a couple of Saturday garage sales and enjoyed talking to local residents.
No time for a rental car, but the ship docked right downtown. My wife hit the Nordstrom Rack and I bought several pounds of just picked Honey Crisp apples to share with our tablemates at dinner.
We have been to San francisco many times, but have never been to Napa Valley. We rented a car and drove to napa, then took a small mountain road to Santa Rosa. From there it was on to Bodego Bay. Finally the day was topped off with a breathtaking drive down California Highway 1. The rnetal car was $39 plus taxes and a tank of gas...the best bargin on the entire trip.
