The whale watching quest and Mendenhall Glacier were wonderful! We also enjoyed the Red Dog Saloon! But Juneau was very big, and with all the traffic, it was not as cute of an Alaskan town as some others.
Ketchikan is fun to walk around! We loved the rainforest and saw 3 black bears. Be sure to walk down Creek Street! We found lots of great deals at the shops in Ketchikan!
We LOVED Skagway! It's a darling little Alaskan town! Be sure to take the White Pass train ride up the mountain! The Skagway Streetcar tour was a great way to see the whole little town! There aren't many places to eat down town so we just went back to the ship for lunch. Most tours begin and end and the ship.
We did Anchorage on our own 2 days. We rented a car and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. We loved the Hilton! We caught the city tour at the visitor center, and enjoyed our trolly ride around the city. We had lunch at Humpy's and dinner at Glacier Brewhouse. (Make reservations at Glacier Brewhouse to avoid a long wait.) We drove up to Wasilla-a beautiful area. Anchorage is easy to get around with some streets numbered and others are letters. The Anchorage Airport was beautiful!
