New York (Brooklyn)
Port Rating:
We had my husband's sister here to visit in the evening, so we disembarked early, had no problem at all with immigration and were walking towards Broadway at 08.30. We took the hop on hop off bus which has three routes, was $54 US each and was very good value.
We took the subway in the evening to visit family and also got the subway back late at night without any problems at all.

Port Rating:
A lovely port where we took a Trolley Tour which we had found on the internet. all our ports were DIY and much cheaper than ships tours.

Boston
Port Rating:
Here in Boston again we took a Hop on Hop Off Bus which included a river cruise on the Charles River. Excellent value and we saw a lot more of the city than we would have done on a ships tour.

Portland, Maine
Port Rating:
We were slightly disappointed with Portland, not a lot to see and not particularly attractive, but again, we did a bus tour and were glad we did not do more.

Bar Harbor
Port Rating:
A beautiful place and here with had booked online with Ollies Trolleys. If you don't get in to the port for any reason, they refund your money. It was an excellent tour and included a visit to Breakers, one of the mansions. Very good value for money.

Saint John, New Brunswick
Port Rating:
Our first Canadian port and we were lucky enough to get talking to one of the guides in the Welcome Tent. He was just going off duty and offered to drive us around and even took us to the Reversing Falls. We bought him a coffee in the market and spent some time chatting. A wonderful day.

Halifax
Port Rating:
We absolutely love Halifax. Again we took a bus/trolley tour found locally. All these ports have welcome areas and you can quite simply book a tour when you arrive. This is a lovely city with some very interesting places to see, like the Titanic Museum and other sites.

Quebec City
Port Rating:
Well Quebec has to be the highlight of this cruise. It is stunning, very French and just a delight. Very easy to find your way around and even though there is a funicular to the top part, we walked it. We also had dinner ashore here which was most enjoyable.
the Museum of Immigration is a must.
St John's Newfoundland.
Didn't have room for another port. St John's is OK, the sail in is amazing as it is very narrow and Arcadia is about the biggest ship that could do it.
