New York
Port Rating:
The embarkation went very smoothly. We got to talk to some of our friends who were on the Cruise Critic Message Board. They were very friendly, and it was great to meet them. I was very pleased with the ease of the embarkation process. Unlike our first time, in 2005, we had to wait in 5 different lines just to embark. Now that they have it down to a science, many of us find the ease of embarking one less hassle to deal with.
After we embarked, we went up to the Lido Deck for lunch. There, we ran into some more Cruise Critic Members who were on our board. It was great to see their smiling faces, and I know that we did encounter some wonderful people right from the beginning.

We really enjoyed going to Horseshoe Bay Beach, as well as Hamilton. The transportation system was better than we had anticipated. We thought that we'd have some delays in both the buses and the ferries. We were very pleased that we were wrong in our assumptions.
The Bermudaian people are wonderful! They're so friendly, and love to talk to us tourists. The island is so clean, and the water and the beaches are so pristine. We couldn't ask for a better place to visit.
The bathrooms on Horseshoe Bay Beach are public, and we met some people from HAL's MS Veendam, who were docked in St. George's and Hamilton. Those cruisers were very friendly as well. They really keep the bathrooms clean, as well as the areas outside, where we washed off our feet, that had so much sand on them. I am very glad that Captain Alcaras didn't change our course, and that we were able to stay in Bermuda.
