This was a tender port and no problems. Nice little town. We bought the all day Ripta bus pass for $6 each. Went up to the Breakers mansion and I did the tour while my husband and son walked the "cliffs". We also walked around the town as it was a beautiful, sunny day. Having the pass you can hop on and off all day.
The port was actually Gloucester but we did take the HAL bus tour to Boston. I found it a very long day but it was interesting. We had a short time in Quincy Market for lunch-very busy but delicious lobster rolls.
We all loved this port. Did Oli's trolley tour up to Acadia National Park and enjoyed it. Had lunch at Stewman's lobster right on the pier and had the best clam chowder. Nice place to walk around as well with small little shops to browse in. The park just by the cruise ship terminal has free wifi.
We actually hired a taxi for 3 hours to drive us around to the sites. We went to Peggy's cove which was very beautiful to see. Also saw the Swissair memorial and the Citadel.
Rented a car in this port of Charlottetown, PEI for the day and just toured north Rustico, Cavendish, along the shore line drive to Confederation Bridge, stopped at COWS for ice-cream.
Docked right in Quebec City. Can walk to the Plains of Abraham, Old town Quebec, use the funicular (as it's steep to climb). It's a great walking City with lots to see and do. We tried to rent a car but because we hadn't pre-booked it was impossible as we needed one for 5 people.
