Juneau can be crowded, there may be four or more ships in. The ships can dock right in town. Not much to do downtown except shopping. Expect rain. The Mendenhall Glacier and the Glacier Gardens are good tours. The cable car up to Mt. Roberts is ok.
Expect rain. There may be four or more ships in. It can a long walk from the dock to town, depending on which dock is used. There is a free shuttle. Not much to do in town except shop and eat. We took the duck tour, it's ok, but you look out through a plastic curtain because of rain. Not a pretty town at all: very commercial. We took the bus tour, which takes you to the Saxman Tligit village, that tour is just ok.
The ship docks at a secure wharf, you have to take a bus to town. We went to the Alaska Cultural Center, they have a native dance show that we enjoyed. Anchorage is a city without charm. Expect rain and clouds.
Expect rain. The ship anchors out and uses tenders. The town offers shopping and a Russian Church, that's about it. The Russian dance troupe was great, don't miss it.
Lots to do. On September 1, it was cloudy and cold. The dock is a mile from town, the bus costs $7.50 per person. You don't need a tour: go to the Royal BC Museum, lots to see.
