A must see in Victoria is Butchart Gardens. We got off the ship and walked the mile into town along a lovely waterfront walkway. For $112.00 for two, we caught a bus in town which took us on the 45 minute ride to Butchart Gardens. If you don't want to spend the time going to the gardens, the city of Victoria is a great place to just "be".
Seattle was nice but not one of our favorite west coast ports. We took the ferry to Bainbridge Island to wander. Had a great day over there and a nice ferry ride back to the ship.
San Francisco was amazing. We sailed under the bridge around 2pm. The captain opened the front of the ship to those who wanted to be first under the bridge. San Fran is a great city to explore on foot. We walked to Market Square, shopped in Macy's and returned the the ship later that evening. The next day we planned to walk from the ship to the bridge and into Sausalito where we intended to return by ferry. After walking along the waterfront to Crissy Field and almost to the end of the Golden Gate, we discovered it was closed at the opposite end so we had to retrace our steps. It was a great way to view the city and spend the day. We had a late lunch at Boudins where we got our sourdough fix and returned to the ship where we had a very romantic dinner (from the buffet of course) outside on the back deck with a view of the city and bridges. The sail away was breathtaking. If you have never sailed out of San Francisco, it should be a must do for a future cruise.
