Hamilton
Port Rating:
We travelled all over Bermuda as it is easy to get around, but comment on Hamilton & St Georges. Hamilton is a pretty small city, very few shops but has a couple of chain stores, internet cafe and a undercover shopping centre. Unfortunately, you can get around the shops in about an hour and is not like the Caribbean islands i.e. lack of jewellery stores.
St Georges had very few shops and we discovered when we came off the ferry - very dissapointing. We had gone there to reach the Blue Hole watersports at the Grotto Bay hotel, we had intended to take out the boat but as the weather was not beach weather and the boats were not as expected, not powerful motors etc we did not take one out. The grotto bay hotel looked appealing though.
Overall Bermuda was very clean, the people were helpful and friendly but we were dissapointed that there wasn't very much to do on the island and as we wanted to see the night time on an island and the ferries stopped running early this prevented us from doing this without spending a fortune on taxi journeys.
