This city is really trying to rid the stigma of the troubles. We found the locals charming hospitable and helpful. It is a must to take a city tour which are abundant and easily boarded in the city centre which is not that large. Costing can vary from £5 to £10 depending on the bus company. All around the 1 1/2 hour long and well worth the money even at a tenner!!! The guided commentary is worth that alone with a mixture facts stories and humour!!
This is a very busy and crowded city around 5 kilometers from the port. Shuttle or taxi is a must uless you prefer a long walk. Dublin is much more expensive than Belfast mainly due to Euro and the high taxes due to massive debt bail out. Having said this you will have to try the famous Liffey water and oysters in the famous O'Connell Street.Dublin is very cosmopolitan and welcome all nationalities with their gentle humour. We decided just to walk around or sit and people watch. This city has an unforgettable charm and worth the extra expense to shop and eat there.
