Ketchikan is a delightful small town that offers a great shopping experience, and several outstanding shore excursions. We highly recommend the Bering Sea Fisherman's Tour. Be aware that this location is very tourist-oriented.
Beautiful spot, with the opportunity to see the real Alaska. The old cannery is a glimpse into the past, and offers neat gift shops and restaurants in a wonderful, natural setting. Watch out for the zip-line, it's literally a real screamer!
A great place to visit, but not enough time to get it all in. The excursions to glaciers are terrific, but take a long time to go out and back. Hard to judge this port.
Really clean, and a wonderful opportunity to shop. The Russian church and heritage of the first capital of Alaska are very interesting and truly a fascinating educational experience. The Fortress of the Bear and other shore excursions are terrific. One of the highlights of our whole cruise.
A most interesting and beautiful city, with old-world charm and cosmopolitan atmosphere. A wide variety of shops and restaurants, beautiful flowers, incredible gardens, and a delightful harbor to visit. Some may find it a bit pricey.
