Interesting, exciting and lovely place to explore. Loved the Fish Pirate's Restaurant (not far from the harbour ) , where there was live country music by a great character called Sitka Tex.We had fantastic fish and chips there. Great art galleries , selling Inuit carving and superb bronze figures, lots of lovely jewellery stores selling jewellery with Alaskan theme. Loved the painted "mooning eagle" on the harbour -took some great photos!
A quaint old saloon type town, interesting to explore . We have never seen so many jewellery stores in one place ! Lots of beautiful tanzanite for sale, though expensive.
Amazing vibrant city, beautifully laid out, spotlessly clean, fabulous approach from the sea. Great shopping in Gas Town and we found some wonderful shops selling Inuit carving and Haida designed jewellery. Best was the Museum of Anthropology - stunning collection of First Nations totem poles , art , especially the sculpture of the Raven by Bill Reid. Incredible! Stayed at the Pan Pacific Hotel on the sea front - good food though expensive. Vancouver Airport also has a wonderful bronze group by Bill Reid , not to be missed if you are interested in Indian legends .
