This is a nice port to walk around in there are several memorials to the Titanic. You can also go to see (from a distance) the dock where the Titanic left from. There is a maritime museum that really is not worth your time (or money). We strolled through the old town which had the medieval city gate and some of the medieval walls. We went to the national car museum which as very cool. ( it is not near Southampton but most ships have excursions to it.) For those who don't like cars there is a stately home very near that is free to go into and there is the ruins of a church so there is something there for everyone.
