Ship docked in Haines and provided high speed ferry to Skagway. White Pass & Yukon Railroad was fantastic! HAL was selling water as we left the ship, but train provided snack AND free water. Scenary amazing, tour guides great, bathrooms and wood stove in every car. Plenty of time to shop in Skagway and/or Haines. We chose Haines because it's not as touristy. Great place to restock anything you might need in their supermarket and Orca shop across from ship dock was a treasure trove or reasonably priced "stuff".
Glacier Gardens were fabulous. What a find. Golf cart ride up the mountain with spectacular views of Juneau and the gardens are amazing. Followed by the tramway up Mt. Roberts to the eagle recovery center and Lady Baltimore and more spectacular views.
