Quaint small town, took our sons to the Bird Sanctuary. We had spent several days in Anchorage so really we had done alot regarding Alaska history and such like. With out the Precruise experience in Anchorage I would have thought Haines a poor port as there really is not much there but there are excursions available. Because of what we had done in Anchorage we chose to not book any more excursions during the cruise.
Excellent time!!! Did the tram up Mount Roberts Absolutely do this!! Amazing trails, views and visit the precious Bald Eagle that was shot at and lived and is now cared for in the facilities atop Mt. Roberts. Also traveled a short bus ride to Mendenhall Glacier OMG, WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!!! breath-taking. To not see this is a crime.
