Port Rating:

It was very hot and because it was a Sunday most of shops were closed except for the tourist / souvenir shops.

We had hoped to catch the Cabrio bus tour but due to arriving over 1-1/2 hours behind the original cruise schedule we missed the bus by 1 minute!

We didn't enjoy the old town in the heat and spent no more than 30 mins in Dubrovnik. Our own experience was probably a 1 or a 2 rating but if it had not been so hot or we had not been late it might have worked out much better so I can't be too harsh.

The most enjoyable aspect of the day was the company of our new friends and the banter with the driver.

The visit to the Achillion was ok but we all agreed afterwards that Corfu didn't really have a lot to offer from what we saw and none of us would visit again.

Too many olive trees!

With 4 of our new Cruise Critic friends we fluked a taxi driver with a mini van (there had apparently been no other taxis around for over 20 minutes) and he negotiated a fixed price for a return trip.

I wanted to visit Castelmola for the views and an "interesting" bar I had heard about so we drove up the winding round to the top of the mountain.

Afterwards we were dropped off at the Messina gate and arranged to be picked up at the other end of the town.

A quick visit to the Greek Theatre was underwhelming - especially in the heat and then we only had time for a quick lunch (which was great) and some even quicker shopping before our driver arrived on the dot.

It's a port we all agreed deserved more time - maybe even an overnight stay!

Port Rating:

Would have preferred to have anchored off Nice or Villefranche!
