We took a tender from the ship in Cannes which took us straight to a coach for our trip to Monaco. Drove through Cannes & Nice with an excellent guide who gave us lots of information on the way. We stopped in Monaco and had a guided tour with some free time to explore & eat. Then a public bus ride to Monte Carlo which was eventful! A small price to pay to see the Grand Prix stands & pits still in situe. Free time in Monte Carlo then back on the bus again back to the coach.
Another tender to the port of Citiveccio and another coach. Another tour guide giving us information on the way to Rome. Once in Rome we were taken to a beautiful square and left to our own devices for four hours. Managed to see most of the sites but found our map and street signs very confusing. Met up in the afternoon for a guided tour of the Forum & Colosseum. A brilliant but very tiring day.
A welcome change today just walked off the ship and explored Palermo on our own. Got lost again due to a rubbish map and not very clear street signs. We did find everything we wanted to see in the end and various other sites. A tiring morning but saw lots of different parts of Palermo. Next time I would perhaps do a tour to ensure we saw the best bits and missed out the more unsavoury bits.
