Icy Strait is a nice quiet change. Here you must tender to shore but it is no big deal. It is only a two minute ride. Icy Strait has the long but very expensive zip line, a couple of places to eat, trails to walk on and a beach to hike on. You can also walk or ride a couple of miles to Hoonah a small town. There is an excellent museum right on the dock displaying mostly fishing exhibits and local history.
Skagway is a cute little town with fewer jewelry stores than the other two towns. At Skagway you have a bit of a walk in to town - maybe 10 minutes. Skagway is cute with horse draw carts and costume drivers rolling around town.
Seward is the end of the line. It is not so designed around cruise ship tourists. Once off the ship it is a 10 minute walk to shops. There is a free town shuttle bus that will make a 20 minute loop around town and pick you up and drop you off at specified locations. We made the loop just to see the whole town.
