Hong Kong
Port Rating:
Cunard, the QM2 should not be late for any port as she is capable of doing 27 plus knots, but it happens all the time. Fort Luderdale - Gas turbine engine missing, bought on board, never told but had been warned that 3 major ports Rio, Cape Town and Sydney we would be 6 hours late. Late in Salvador Late in Fremantle for Perth should have whole day, got half Adelaide - late ended up with only 2 hours Sydney - late now in Navel Yard Xingang - late Hong Kong - no berth had to anchor in Junk Bay some 45 minutes on tender, had large tender so had to wait one hour and a half before we got to pier, total rubbish, a very important port and to get back and forward to ship (had overnight stay) was awful Nha Trang - was port, but tendered Sharm El Sheikh was port, then tender, but when we looked over the side we had berthed - never told.
Had a final planning letter from Cunard on 11th January whilst crossing the Atlantic, this was never final as all the above happened.
