cooperdr's Port Reviews of Cartagena (Colombia), Colon (Cristobal), Puntarenas (Puerto Caldera), Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas Celebrity Century cruise in April 2011
It was so very hot & humid that I can't say I had a great time. We took a taxi and he took us on a 3 hour excursion around the area. It was very inexpensive ($25p/p) and he stayed with us the entire time, even when we were shopping. He'd get out and stop traffic so we could cross! You have to remember to get the Taxi drives in blue shirts.
Hot & humid (don't know what I expected!). There is a shopping area just outside of the ship. Small area. They told us not to go beyond the fence that surrounded that little area unless we were with an excursion.
Hot & Humid!! We did the zip line excursion through the ship and it was fun. A little hard on these old bones, but it definitely was worth the walk up the mountain. A once in a lifetime experience.
Went through the country side with a wonderful guide. He would stop and show us special things. Picked a star fruit and a cashew fruit for us to check out. The zip line guys were great (and thankfully strong).
Hot & Humid! We got a van outside of the ship and they took us to the cliff divers, to the Los Flamingos hotel and shopping (in the barrio), not just by the ship! It was about $35 p/p and $7 to get to the best view of the cliff divers. Beware...lots of steps down means lots of steps back up!
Hot & Not Humid!! We had a snorkeling excursion through the ship. We sailed in a catamaran to Chileno Bay and snorkeled for about 1 hour, and sailed back. The snorkeling was not all that spectacular, but the water was warm and there were some fish. The sail on the catamaran was wonderful. Good crew, good food & good drinks!
