This port is 2 hours away from Bangkok.We took taxi ride in and the driver escorted us around. Saw lots of Buddha s and temples. Did not have time to go round the Royal Palace. Ride down the river from Pier 1. Saw modern buildings next to tin shacks and temples. Very busy. Shopping centres. Would like to have gone to the floating markets but not enough time if you are only there for a day.
When disembarking small beach, boats and large hotel/resort in a calm bay.Some people we spoke to took private boat from here for tour. The guide threw cicken into the sea and huge sea eagles came down to eat.They said it was breathtaking. Also tours here into rainforest type areas but you need to get into town early. there is big sea - life cen.tre there. Beach lovely lots of watersports
K L is approx one and half hours from port.Petronas Towers beautiful.If you want to go across the walkway between the two buildings book before u go. Luxury stores can be found in the base.ad the Formula One car in the foyer. For cheaper things China Town good here. Has lots of stalls and shops with fake goods.There is tour bus that has a stop outside the tower. Lots of places here that have the fish tanks where you put your feet in and the fish eat the dead skin from your feet - sounds awful but strangely refreshing.
