Beautiful old city with LOTS of character. Our ship was docked within easy walking distance to city center and public transportation was easy to use. Viking provided us with several informal walking tours (one to the RED LIGHT district)and a canal boat cruise that was a highlight of our trip. The Rijksmuseum and Anne Frank House should not be missed.
Cathedral of Our Lady is a beautiful church with many impressive Reuben's on display. This is a lively city with interesting streets and squares, lots of shops and cafes. We also shopped in the big market under the Hilton.
Picture perfect beautiful. MANY photo ops, including from the top of the 366 step bell tower, which is worth the climb just to see the bells up close and personal. The market in the square is exceptional, but be warned, it disappears at 1pm. The canal boat ride is pleasant and not overpriced. The Church of Our Lady is preserved, but not much restored. Very interesting, do pay to go behind the altar.
