We went ashore and hired a taxi to drive us around the Island and to go to areas that we wanted to go to and not a set tour. It was worth it and would definitely do it that way in the future. Beautiful island but could not spend too many days on it as I would be bored.
Again rented a taxi to drive us around. Beautiful Island that we would like to go back too. Our group decided that Grenada is the place that we would definitely go back to to spend more time exploring.
As we had been in St Thomas twice before we decided to go the St. John's this time. Took a tour of the Island as well. Had a great time and would spend more time there as well.
Hopefully this is the right port. We stopped in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. We we going to go for a walk as as we were leaving the Cruise terminally we met another couple who had got off a bit earlier. They advised that they were warned by the police that it is not safe to walk around and strongly recommended that they go back to the terminal and take a tour or a taxi. They advised that if you walk around the town to remove all jewelery and watches, and do not show camera's or purses as people drive up to tourists and have been robbing them and driving off.
The city of 3 million people was very dirty and we did not feel safe at all in the town. Our taxi driver also did not speak English which I should of confirmed this before getting into the taxi we hired this time. There is some beautiful areas but also lots of slums that we went through. Due to this we all think that this port should be dropped by the cruise line companies.
last port was Grand Turk
Beautiful Island and friendly people. Hired a cab to drive around then went to the beach to swim and tan.
