One of our favorite islands in the Caribbean. We've been there many times before and stayed for a week once. Friendly people, beautiful beaches and great snorkeling. We visited Francis Bay this trip (taxi ride), and unfortunately it rained. Snorkeling was still good.
Extremely expensive and extremely beautiful. Walked the first day to Shell Beach, which is about a 10 minute walk along the harbor. Not too crowded but very nice beach. Second day, the husbands rented an ATV and beach hopped per local's recommendations. They had a great time and had good snorkeling but were a bit amazed with the full nudity on some of the beaches.
We took the excursion to Prickly Pear Island. It was a wonderful day. The family that runs the island excursion are very nice and friendly. Plenty of chairs, umbrellas, good food and drink. Good shopping in Antigua right at the port. Island people are very friendly.
A new favorite of ours! We are planning on coming back for a stay. We took a taxi to Coconut Grove. Beautiful beach in front of nice restaurant. Prices not too bad. Drinks were good and we heard the food was very good. Local people are very friendly and the island is not too big, but extremely quiet and gorgeous!
We had been here before on a private sailing yacht and a windjammer. This time we just walked to a beach, sorry can't remember the name, but it is the first one to the right of the marina. It is in front of a small resort that we are now considering a stay at in the future. The beach was quiet and we had a great view of the Journey! For those visiting that prefer a tour, go to the Baths - you won't be disappointed.
