Naples for Pompeii. Thought Naples looked horrible but Pompeii was great. It was not crowded because we were out of season. I should hate to be there in the school summer holidays. Cagliari was excellent. Interesting city with good feel to it. Not expensive, friendly and the sea food was superb. Cadiz. Again friendly, interesting and good inexpensive food Rome. Busy busy. Could be expensive, needs care in selecting restaurants. For newcomers, the City tour bus is the way to go. Gibraltar. Shop until you drop. Like a gigantic bazaar with a rock in the middle. Once is probably enough, unless you are a shopaholic. Lucca. Enchanting. You go back in time. We shall go again. Barcelona. Much to see but hold on to your handbags ladies. Again the City tour bus is the way to go. Palma. Nice town, beautiful cathedral and interesting old quarter. Excellent shops and transport system. EU pensioners get cheap ride on city tour bus after showing proof of age and domicile.
