Raining when we got to Aruba but soon dried up. We only walked around the town and took some pictures, used internet to contact home as ship internet seems expensive and slow. All the shops in Aruba seem to be jewllery stores, of no interest to us. As we are not great fans of the Caribbean this was least interesting stop.
Took a taxi to the old town which was a really worthwhile place to visit. We enjoyed walking around the area and visited the old city walls and the Inquisition museum. It was however very hot and humid and stopped for a couple of the excellent local Aguillar beers to cool off. Lots of vendors touting for your dollars but a polite no gracias worked most of the time.
Here we did the Princess Tropical train ride and wildlife tour which was very enjoyable, seeing crocodiles, iguanas and various exotic birds. After excursion we walked around the area next to port and done some shopping and internet.
Having visited Acapulco before on a land holiday and having done the cliff divers etc we just went to the Zocalo area done some shopping and had lunch. With all the negative reports on safety here we at no time felt at any risk and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
