1st day went to Chelano Bay.Took a way overpriced taxi and went snorkeling.Snorkeling was good and the beach was beautiful. Then back to town and found a bar on the marina that had 7 beer buckets w/ salsa and chips for $10.Got hooked by time share shark for the next day. 2nd day did time share presentation and had we had extra money would have bought.Instead we took our free liquor and water taxi ride out to Lovers beach and had a great time. Then back to town for a couple $10 buckets before back to ship.
We chose free shuttle to beach rather than town.Beautiful stretch of sand and to my wife's complete delite, it was covered in beautiful sea shells.Had some local food and a couple beers and back to the ship.Overall not much here.
Busy, noisy.Took an open air taxi to a hotel in Gold area and paid $25 rnd trip for 16 ft catamaran ride to Deer Island.Had nice time there on beach w/ some marginal snorkeling.Back to hotel and hired open air taxi for $12 for ride back to port and tour of old Mazatlan en route.Driver stopped often for pics and even took us to local store for 60 peso 6-pack that we enjoyed on our tour.Port area had many shops and we had another drink and bought a few souvenirs before back on the ship.
Took Carnival excursion.Whales, dolphins, and snorkeling.7 hr excursion that included all-you-can-eat lunch and drinks.THE BEST excursion we have ever taken.Worth every cent.We saw hundreds of dolphins, dozens of whales and rays, and the snorkeling at the protected islands was fantastic. The crew sang and danced the entire way back.Vallarta Adventures was the company. We plan to do the same excursion again! We did not seen any of the city d/t length of excursion.
