White sandy beaches available within a half hour walk or 5 min taxi from port.Head for boat yard BUT WALK UP BEACH FOR QUIETER EXPERIENCE Expect to pay 10-15 dollars for 2x sunbeds + umbrella this will include 2/3 free drinks.
This port seemed to be the most aggressive for touting for tour and taxi business, for some people this was very irritating. Other passengers we meet commented that they enjoyed the organised tree top tour on this island that they experienced.
Be prepared to experience a less developed area immediately outside the port, for some passengers this was not appealing. We visited the local botanical garden that is a ten min taxi ride away from port. No entry fee is charged but if you wish guide will be available to take you around for a small fee.
On arriving what is known as the island of spice offers an attractive port area with easy access to the water taxi which will take you to a pleasant near by beach. But be warned it gets very busy. So if you require sunbed get their early before 10am especially if other ships are in as was our experience.
