Had never been to New Orleans but was pleasantly surprised. The city is somewhere every American should visit to see how, with hard work, a disaster can be, if not erased, at least dealt with. And all that is said about Bourbon Street is true. The food alone is worth the trip.
Here we took the excursion to Tulum. It is a fairly long day - about 45 minute ferry ride to and from the mainland at Playa Del Carmen, about a 2 hour drive to and from the ruins and about 2 hours at the ruins themselves. But it is well worth is. Well preserved ruins and beautiful scenery.
