We had a wonderful experience in Alexandria. We used Ramses Tours and they were wonderful. Mo hammed (our tour guide) was terrific. He picked us up at the port area and we drove to Cairo. From there we visited the Cairo museum. Mo hammed escorted us through, showed us the high points and then on to a nice lunch near the Pyramids. Then we saw the Pyramids and the Sphinx, did the camel rides, a few took tours inside the pyramids. Mo hammed was very patient with picture taking and shopping, two things that really seem to slow things down. We stayed overnight in Cairo, arranged by Ramses Tours, at a lovely hotel and then the next day we visited several mosques a synagogue and a Christian Church. Then another lovely lunch and back to the ship in Cairo, but along the way we stopped at a jewelry factory and Mo hammed was able to arrange for us to buy Car touches at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend Ramses Tours. We had 10 people on our tour; it was much more reasonable than the tours offered by Royal Caribbean, plus we did not have a group of 40 or 50 people to contend with. Ramses Tours was very professional; we were originally a group of 4 and at the last minute added another group of 6 to our tour and they smoothly arranged all aspects of the tour for all 10 of us. Ramses Tours arranged for everything. No money changed hands until the very end of the tour and then we were satisfied that all charges were as stated.

There were 10 of us and we did the Holy Land (both Ashdod and Haifa) with Bein Heim (sp?)Tours. Ey-Al, our tour guide, was wonderful, quick to arrange for a larger group than anticipated (we went from a group of 4 to 10 people). He was able to arrange our visit to Bethlehem which took a lot of time from our first day. Going through check points and being handed over from person to person in Palestine takes a lot of time. Over the next 2 days we went to almost all of the Christian sites. Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Capernam (sp?), Sea of Galilee, River Jordan, Tagtha (sp?), Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Via Dolorosa, Wailing Wall, Kibbutz. Ey-Al was extremely knowledgeable and invaluable in all sites. He was a wealth of information about Israel. I had no expectations as to what I would see. These cities (Nazareth, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, etc.) are modern and built up, not like the days of Christ, yet things are preserved. It was a bit shocking to arrive and see the remains of war on the way up to Jerusalem and to go through check points to get to Bethlehem. Ey-Al patiently worked us through all of it.
