The port was DOVER. Did not take any ships tours, but there is a bus available for about $5.00. The Dover Castle and Wartime tunnels is a good way to spend the day.
Rented car at the pier. Make sure you book the car well in advance. Drove to the D Day museums. The cost for the car, tolls and museum entrance fees is about 1/3 of the cost of the ship's tours, plus you don't have to ride a bus.
Took the ships tour. Not a very good tour. It was suppose to be a fishing village and a mountain tour. Very long lines to get beck on the ship. We really did not spend enough time in the port.
