We were only in this port for a few hours, so we toured some gardens and went to Mendenhall glacier. Brilliant, sunny weather. Mendenhall photos turned out like picture postcards. We didn't shop in Juneau.
Lets see....a hotel, couple of bars and 27 jewelry stores. We took a tour to Carcross which lasted a good part of the day. I shopped a bit afterward but didn't buy very much.
We took the Saxman village tour and then had some time in Ketchikan to shop. We were able to walk Creek Street and look in the stores. As my wife is recovering from a foot operation and couldn't walk far, we didn't spend a lot of time shopping in any port.
We were in Victoria mostly in the evening - I wish there was some way for the ship to get there earlier, but it is 600 miles south of Ketchekan, our previous port. All we did was the Butchart Gardens tour which I stated above, I wouln't recommend for evening tours. The city tour to and from Butchart was quite informative, though. No time for shopping.
We drove to the area instead of flying, and got a sleep, park, and cruise motel package that permitted us to park the car and be shuttled to the pier. When the cruise was done, the shuttle was waiting for us at the pier. Very efficient.
