Docked at Puerta Maya, excellent shopping right at the dock. Taxi service is very good, rates are posted everywhere. Did an independent shore excursion to Chankanaab Park for the Dolphin Swim. This is a $10 cab ride from the port and extremely high value for the money. Call the park directly and negotiate for a better rate. Photo and video prices are much cheaper than the excursion you get through the cruise line.

Port was actually LIMON, COSTA RICA. The port itself is very bare bones, not much shopping opportunity at the port or anywhere else. We used Oscar Brown Tours for a Zip Line excursion. Small company, very good service and value for the money. In addition to the zip lining, we toured downtown Limon, stopped to hold and pet a Sloth, sampled local fruit, and visited the Del Monte banana plantation.

Port was actually COLON, PANAMA. Good shopping right across the street from the port accessible via an overhead walkway. Used My Friend Mario for our shore excursiono, another very good value purchase. The excursion included at stop at the Gatun Locks of the Panama Canal, a walking tour through the rainforest with monkeys in the trees overhead, and a visit to San Lorenzo Fort.
