We did a Princess trekking walk in Helsinki that was quite different and lots of fun. Close to 7 miles of walking but you would never realize it. Would do it again, we saw parts of the city not accessible by bus.
Our private 2 day tour in St. Petersburg was off the charts is was so good. Our guide got us past other tours waiting in line at the Hermitage, into Peters Castle while other tours waited in the rain over an hour. A great 2 days! Her knowledge of the history of the country as well as the visited sites was unparelled. thank you folks at Plan it 4 you.
Our private tour in Gdansk was not so successful. Will the first half of the day was great! We wanted to see and did see Stutthof concentration camp at this port. Very heavy on the mind but a needed stop for our family. Returning to the city we wanted to go to lunch and the ship. The guide Margaret would not do so. We were held hostage on our own tour! She continued on a city tour, allowed for no toilet stops and would not take us back to the ship. Mutiny we cried! Finally back to the ship after much complaining we fell into the shipboard routine.
Tallin makes for a perfect mental match to a Bavarian town of old. Not much time there unfortunatly. Shopping at the little shopping area at the dock is just as good with in some cases better prices.
Again a private tour chosen for us. It was with Friends of Dave at Warnemunde. We did his Magic Mecklinberg tour. What a great day! German restaurants, train rides, history, art. A perfect day. Get your agent to book it for you or do the research yourself.
