Sailing from this port is exciting, but not much on the land end. It's an old cargo port where the movie "On the Waterfront" was filmed.

A visit to the Old City is interesting. The fort El Mauro is one which you see in magazine advertisements. Both are walking distance from the pier.

Shoppers' paradise and wonderful beaches.

More shopping and a good beach via walkway from the pier. Also, interesting sites on the French side of the island. Orient Beach is clothing optional. They are it all.

You can shop, use the beach or hang out in Margaretaville. All just off the pier. We opted for a taxi to Pillory Beach and a tour of the island. Pillory was a true Caribbean experience.
