We enjoyed walking to Fort San Diego. We love history and the fort was just full of info on the Spanish settlement of Acapulco, the relationship between Acapulco and the Philippines in terms of trade/shipping,pirates, etc. We then walked to the zocalo(main town square) and it was beautiful. Since it was Saturday there were lots of local people enjoying their day. It was filled with greenery and flowers. There were booths with people selling things and music filled the air. We were going to then take a taxi to the Diego Rivera Mural and Las Flamingos Hotel for great views and a drink but we were just too tired.
Even though we didn't actually get off the ship to visit this port I could tell that if you are a beach lover you would really enjoy this beautiful tropical place! It had every water sport imaginable including para sailing . I could see everyone having a really great time!!
