Having been there numerous times before, we decided to stay aboard. Catalina is a pleasant, quaint and picturesque stop. Its one of those places that can be experienced once or twice, and you can then say that you've 'seen it all'.
Ensenada doesn't offer a lot of touring options. It is a typical Mexican tourist town (a la Tijuana) with the usual souvenirs and gritty, crowded streets. The Winery tours are OK, and the Blowhole (LaBufadora) tour can be better done with a private taxi for far less than what the cruise line offers. It does however, allow you to see what Ensenada hawks as the second largest flag in all of Mexico. As I said, Ensenada doesn't offer a lot of options.
