The British influence and the modern times are evident at this port the nicest of the 3 visited in Egypt. We joined 6 other CC members on a private tour here with a wonderful operator. Beautiful waterfront, cute market stalls and great hsitory
The markets are not as friendly as we remember them on past visits considering the economic situation on most Islands. Swimming with the turtles and snorkeling over a reef were awe inspiring.
Beautiful place to walk around most people were fluent inn English and very pleasant. We decided to go to the Freixenet Cava Cellars out in the country and very good decision it was. We visited caves down 128 feet that were the original champagne caves and are still used today. The countryside was lush and green when we were there. A great tour if you are looking for something different.
