Nice small island. Wish we'd had the lecture on the U.S. invasion in the '80s, but it was the day after we embarked in Barbados and we didn't really have a chance to learn that part of the island's history until after we'd left. A quiet island today, without a lot to see.
The island (part of the chain called Guadalupe)is a small fishing village without much to see. We tendered in, and we saw the main part of the village in a few minutes. The harbor's beautiful and the scenery was spectacular when we sailed out that evening.
We had been to St. Maartin twice before, but this was our first time on the French side. The French side is much more interesting, with numerous hills and a very nice harbor. Would like to there again.
This was our fourth or fifth time in San Juan, which is a very interesting and historic city. Too bad our ship's planned excursions did not include any trips into the Puerto Rican countryside. It's a big island and we'll have to visit it for a much longer period sometime.
We had also been to Key West before. It's a small town and an interesting one, but not a lot to see. VERY touristy. A nice break before returning to the mainland U.S.
