Would go back again to see more of the city and perhaps base other sidetrips from here. Complimentary tourist bus with commentary was overcrowded (SRO) so much we chose to get off. The famous Victoria Market is closed on Monday and Wednesday.
Awesome city teeming with nifty sights and things to do...allow at least 3 days pre-or post-cruise to take it all in...multi-day transportation passes for ferries, busses, and trains are great values (get them at the SYD airport when you arrive)...many interesting places a short ferry/bus ride away (Manly, Watson's Bay, Bondi Beach, Darling Harbour)...Sydney Opera House tour and a performance of some sort would be a must-do but be careful on the comedy billings as the material from some comics can be pretty crude (Judith Lucy = yucko!)...buy wines from Trevor at the David Jones Market Street Department Store...stroll through the Royal Botanical Gardens and be sure to see the bats hanging from trees and the wild cockatoos...visit the Sydney Fish Market in Pyrmont for lunch but it can be a bit pricey...avoid the Sydney Tower and Oz Trek if you've been up a tall building before
