We also were to be taken to Larnach Castle. The bus driver took upon himself to drive us in circles around Dunedin, it was misty rain and we could not see what he tried to show us. We were eventually rushed through the castle, no time to go upstairs to bedrooms or tower, no time for gardens. This was most disappointing and completely spoilt my day, i had read about the castle and it was on my to "must do list"
It was a long day, we were in need of a hot drink, but our bus driver thought the main street of Dunedin with all the shops closed may have been of more interest to us..... NOT. The devonshire teas at the castle looked so good!
I wonder if bus drivers in NZ need a licence, because our driver could not drive a bus.
