I hate this place and haven't changed my opinion. the town is now so crowded and traffic so horrendous it is nearly impossible to get around. We joined 2 other couples and hired a minivan and driver and went to the Acapulco Princess and spent the day on the beach. It was really hot that day. Hotel was great with wonderful pool
Amazing and wonderful day. Hot and humid, but it always is in their summer. We took a Princess all day tour to see the city and a ranch outside town. We spent a couple of hours at La Recoleta and were fascinated by this world famous cemetary where we saw the Duarte Family mausoleum where Eva Peron is now at rest. Our afternoon at the ranch was superb, even if interrupted by a torrential thunder/lightening storm. We had real gauchos waiting on us while we chowed down on a "typical" meat overload meal. We rode in wooden wagons, rode horses and had a great outdoors time. Due to weather were unable to have horse races so the gauchos put on an impromptu show and it was a real hit. All in all a wonderful day.
Due to difficulties with the ship we finally landed 4 hours late, causing our all day tour (private) to be cut to just 4 1/2 hours. However we did get to visit the Christ the Redeemer statue and were overwhelmed at its magnificence. Also got to ride the cable cars up to Sugar Loaf. The views from both locations were stunning and my photos captured them perfectly. Even though it was over 100 degrees F and very humid, it was astounding. We loved every minute and hope to return in the not too distant future
